Weaving Connections: Creating Connections through Fiber Arts

Grant description

This project will bring the hands-on art of weaving to DISD students through 80 individual weaving looms and weaving loops. Students will learn to transform simple strands of yarn into unique works of art while developing creativity, focus, patience, and confidence. Having their own loom ensures every student can actively participate, experiment, and experience the pride of creating something with their own hands. As students weave individual pieces, they will discover how separate threads come together to create something beautiful—just like the connections we build within our school community.
