From Hands-On Labs to Real-World Data: Vernier Equipment for Animal Science
Ashlyn Williams. Reaches: Animal science students at Decatur High School
Grant description
Animal Science students already participate in hands-on laboratory activities, but many labs must stop short of the data-collection and analysis portion because we lack the necessary equipment. Vernier Go Direct sensors will allow students to accurately measure temperature, carbon dioxide, and gas pressure during animal science investigations. Students will collect, organize, graph, and interpret real-time data, turning hands-on activities into complete scientific investigations. This equipment will strengthen students’ scientific reasoning, technology skills, and career readiness while giving them experience with the real-world data tracking used in modern animal science, veterinary, livestock, equine, and small-animal careers.
