At STEM at Enis Elementary, we believe every child has a voice worth celebrating. Our Author of the Month initiative will honor student writers in grades K–5 by showcasing their creativity, building confidence, and inspiring a lifelong love of writing. Each month, one outstanding student author from each homeroom will be selected as an “Eagle Author.” These students will:

  • Receive a special Author’s Prize Package filled with writing-themed goodies.
  • Have their photo and winning work displayed in a central, high-traffic area of the school.
  • Be recognized schoolwide, encouraging peers to express themselves through writing.
Why This Matters

This initiative benefits all Enis students by:

  • Fostering a Love of Writing: Students are motivated to write, knowing their work could be celebrated.
  • Boosting Confidence: Public recognition helps children see that their words matter and encourages them to take pride in their efforts.
  • Building a Culture of Creativity: Spotlighting young writers makes writing exciting, valued, and fun for everyone.

When students see their peers’ writing celebrated, they are inspired to take risks, explore new ideas, and grow as writers. This ripple effect encourages schoolwide participation and raises overall literacy engagement. Students who may struggle with writing can find motivation through examples of success, while more advanced writers are challenged to continue improving.

How Donations Will Help

Grant funds will support:

  • Author Prize Packages including journals, pens, pencils, highlighters, writing-themed stickers, etc.
  • Photo Displays and Recognition Materials for a dedicated bulletin board that highlights each month’s winners.

Your generosity will directly fuel students’ creativity and help sustain this program throughout the school year.
